Due to MANY issued with the public school Kenzie was attending, the decision was made to pull her out & home-school her until she was able to attend private school.
(In North Carolina children do not need to be in school until age 7, so although there is not set curriculum, Kenzie is doing school work, projects, etc. & not just watching TV.)
Yesterday I took her to her old school so that I could withdraw her. I told her that when we went inside the office she was to be quiet, let Mommy talk to the woman in the office, & then we would go home & do our work. She agreed & was very well behaved while in the school. When we got in the car we had a very interesting conversation. It went something like this:
Me: "Kenzie, I am very proud of you. You did just what I asked. thank you!"
Kenz: "You're welcome Mommy! I tried really hard to make good choices."
Me: "Well you did & that is great!"
Kenz: "It was hard Mommy cause the talking kept trying to come out of my mouth!"
Me: "Well thank you for keeping all that talking inside."
Kenz: "Can we go home to school now Mommy?"
Me: "We need to pick up Emmie & then you can do your school work."
Kenz: "Okay, Mrs. Riley!"
Isn't she adorable!?!?!?!?

I am very proud of her. She handled it in a very mature way. What a lovely child she is. You are doing a great job as a mother.
