Shopping

Tonight we ran to the mall to return something at Gymboree. The girls were watching the TV at Gymboree & behaving so I took a few moments to look around ;)
Within 5 minutes 2 dads w/ kids came in to look at clothes. The store manager & I commented that it must be Daddy's night out (cause most dad's would not be caught dead in Gymbo by choice. LOL!)

Anyway, the first dad left & the other dad was still there w/ his son looking around at the cute clothes. A woman came into the store & walked over to the man & his son.

All of a sudden Mackenzie says,

"Ah. That MUST be the wife!"

The store manager & I nearly fell over. Yet another Kenzie funny! The timing was perfect as usual!

Boyfriends

Kenzie has a HUGE dilemma. There is a little boy at school that kissed her the other day. Then there is Mason (my friend's son) who she has called her fiance since we met him. LOL!

Today we discussed this situation. The discussion went something like this:

Me: Do you have 2 boyfriend's now?
Kenzie: You are not 'opposed' to have 2 boyfriends.
Me: What are you supposed to have.
Kenzie: Just 1. Boyfriends are NOT opposed to kiss you. Mason is my boyfriend cause he does not kiss me.

Love

Kenzie: I love you & Emmie as much as my height!
(she thought that was the biggest amount & wanted us to know she loved us that much!)

Starbucks

Today I surprised the girls & took them to Monkey Joe's (an indoor playplace with inflatbles you can jump & slide down) in Cary, NC (about an hour + away.) On the way I wanted to stop for a cup of Starbucks hot chocolate. I was talking to my brother on the phone & told him I "needed" a hot chocolate for the drive. With the most perfect timing, I hear from the backseat,

"You don't need a hot chocolate Mommy! You'll live with out it!'

Honestly! I mean the timing was perfect. The delivery was perfect. I guess humor w/ perfect timing is inherited (see http://theadventuresofjewboyandschnoozle.blogspot.com/ for more family humor.)

Heaven

Tonight's post is not a funny one, but one that shows how thoughtful & caring Mackenzie is.

While eating dinner tonight Kenzie began asking questions about Heaven. Things like

Where is Heaven?
How do you get there?
Can we visit people in Heaven?
etc.

As most of you know, my grandmother (paternal) passed away in September of 2007. Kenzie still talks about her. She remembers her & tells her sister about her. One thing that Kenzie has in common w/ my grandma is a love for ice skating. Tonight Kenzie came up with a plan. She is so sweet. She knows that Great-grandma was a skater & wants great grandma to know that she loves to skate too. Here is the conversation:

Kenzie: Can we send Great-grandma a picture of me ice skating?

Me: No honey. Great-grandma is an angel now. She lives in Heaven.

Kenzie: I know she is in Heaven Mommy. Can we ask a pilot to fly a plane up really high, all the way tp Heaven, & bring her a picture of me skating? I think it would make her happy.

Me: No, honey. Airplanes can't fly to Heaven.

Kenzie: Well then when I grow up I will be a doctor, a paratrooper & a astronaut & I'll fly a rocketship to Heaven & bring it to her myself.

Me: Great-grandma does not need a picture of you skating because in Heaven the angels can see everything so great-grandma sees you skate all the time & is very proud of you, just like me.

Isn't she a sweetheart?

midnight chat

At 12:52 am Kenz came in my room to tell me she "made a mistake" & had a tiny "accident." Easy fix, change panties, go potty & back to bed.
I go in her room to tuck her in & then off to Emmie's room to check on her. Emmie is awake & had gotton sick. So I clean her up, strip the crib, change the sheets, bathe Emmie, & put her back to bed. Then I take the puked on stuff to the washer. (Did I forget to mention I threw my back out while giving Kenzie a shower tonight which made all of this a lot harder.)
I go back to Kenzie's room cause I hear her talking & I want to make sure she is okay. I walk in & she's still awake. She asked me what I was doing. I told her that Emmie got sick & I had to give her a bath & clean her up. Kenzie replied, "Awww.. poor baby. Not again!"
How sweet is she?!?!?!

words of advice

"You can't eat people! They are alive & if you try to eat them they will bleed. You don't need to eat them. Just eat food!"

While sitting at the table eating ice cream, Kenzie & I were talking. All of a sudden she passed gas & it made a sound. Kenzie says, (to her tushie!)

"Shhh! I'm talking to an adult! It's not nice to interrupt!"

Kenzie: "26, 27, 28, 29...Mom! I need help!"
Me: "What do you need help with?"
Kenzie: "Counting to 100."
Me: "Where are you?"
Kenzie: "I'm back here!"
LMAO!!!
Get it??? (for those that don't...sShe was in the backseat!)

Scott Clifton

Scott Clifton is a soap actor. He was on Genral Hospital a while back & played Dillon. He is now going to be on One Life to Live playing a teacher. Anyway, Kenz & I went to Disney World (surprise, surprise) a few years ago for Super Soap weekend. It's a weekend when ABC soap stars come out for meet & greets, shows, parades, etc.
Kenz needed to use the restroom. We were in EPCOT at The Land. While walking up the ramp Kenz noticed a young man with a necklace similar to one she had. Long story short, Kenz & Scott Clifton had a conversation (she was 3 at the time) about the necklace. It was not until after he walked away I realized who he was. (I watch All My Children & One Life to Live, but not General Hospital.)

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY!
On the previews for OLTL was a clip showing Scott Clifton playing his new character. I told Kenz that she had met him (refer to story above.) Here is the conversation:

Me: "Hey Kenz! You met him in Disney World 2 years ago.
Kenz: "Did he walk out of the TV?"
Me: (LMAO!) "No!"

Kenzie's new school

Due to MANY issued with the public school Kenzie was attending, the decision was made to pull her out & home-school her until she was able to attend private school.
(In North Carolina children do not need to be in school until age 7, so although there is not set curriculum, Kenzie is doing school work, projects, etc. & not just watching TV.)
Yesterday I took her to her old school so that I could withdraw her. I told her that when we went inside the office she was to be quiet, let Mommy talk to the woman in the office, & then we would go home & do our work. She agreed & was very well behaved while in the school. When we got in the car we had a very interesting conversation. It went something like this:

Me: "Kenzie, I am very proud of you. You did just what I asked. thank you!"
Kenz: "You're welcome Mommy! I tried really hard to make good choices."
Me: "Well you did & that is great!"
Kenz: "It was hard Mommy cause the talking kept trying to come out of my mouth!"
Me: "Well thank you for keeping all that talking inside."
Kenz: "Can we go home to school now Mommy?"
Me: "We need to pick up Emmie & then you can do your school work."
Kenz: "Okay, Mrs. Riley!"

Isn't she adorable!?!?!?!?

Red Robin

The other day we went to Red Robin for lunch with a friend & her 2 year old son. Kenzie wanted a turkey & cheese sandwich. I ordered her just that. Here is the conversation that occired when the food finally arrived 30+ minutes later.

Kenzie: "HEY! I did not order hair in my sandwich!"

Me: "What?"

Kenzie: "There's a hair in my sandwich. I did not order THAT!"

***Long story short, Red Robin is sending me a $100 gift card!***

Thanks!

Thank you for posting on my log.

Will you sign your name please?

Dinner?

Me: "Kenzie what do you want for dinner?"

Kenzie: "Where are we going?"

***New Year's Resolution #1: COOK!***

Mommy do I have a log?

While driving home from the pottery place today the following conversation took place.

Kenzie: "Mommy, do I have a log?'
Me: "A what?"
Kenzie: "A log."
Me: "What's a log?"
Kenzie: "It where you write all the funny stuff I say."
Me: "Oh, you mean your Blog!"
Kenzie: "Oh. A blog. Got it. What are you going to write today?"
Me: "Probably this."
Kenzie: "That's a GREAT idea! I'm so funny!"
