The other night I was looking thourgh Kenzie's backpack & came across the flyer for the PTA/Holiday Cultural Program for the school.
Each grade level is assigned a culture. For some reason I thought kindergarten was assigned Mexico. Here is the conversation:
Me: "What do you know about Mexico?"
Kenzie: "They have a boat ride!"
Looks like my child's knowledge is limited to what she sees in Disney! LOL!
Turns out that kindergarten is assigned Native Americans. So I asked Kenzie what she knows.
Me: "What do you know about Native American?"
Kenzie: "The Indians used to live in Native American before we got here. Then the Indians went to Hawaii with teeh hula dancers."
Top notch education here in North Carolina!!!
